There’s usually one word that sticks out to me when I go through wedding photos and really look at what I saw on a couple’s wedding day. A photographer develops (that’s not a film pun) kind of a heightened sense of anticipation. There’s a big difference in what gets locked into a photograph from one second to the next, even half a second later everything is different. A big part of my goal on wedding day is seeing what other’s didn’t, or at least capturing it in a different and, this may be arbitrary, but, better way. What I meant by “look at what I saw” is that often times I squeeze my shutter because it feels right, or it’s about to. Moments don’t linger, but photos do and most of the time it’s only after we have a minute to sit with a moment that it speaks to us. Angela & Daniel’s word, to me, is confidence. Some images scream joy, some scream excitement, but confidence is a rarer word for me to think. It’s not that I think other people lack confidence, it just doesn’t usually occur to me. I got the sense, and maybe you did if you were there or you will from the photos that they were just so ready, so well prepared, and happy to embrace married life together.
Sentimentality aside… Everyone- literally everyone- also came to party, including former Hitch couple and forever friends, Elliot & Jessica!
I can’t be happier for you both, Angela & Daniel, that you’re united in marriage, and you can live out all the joys you anticipated until this great day. Enjoy the photos. Even though I went way overboard on your post, there’s much more on the way. In fact, I can’t be sure, but this might be the longest post I’ve ever made! You don’t mind, right?
