Remember when I said I was nervous about being in Houston two weeks before our due date for baby #2?… Well I failed to mention that the last wedding I posted was one week before our due date (in CT) and this wedding was a day after our due date, and baby still had not come. For this reason I was relieved (more than normal) to be in town! Thankfully, after weeks of worthless stress that I might miss my second daughter’s birth, Anna was born 4 days after this wedding. Phew! I’ll put a photo of her up soon, but beside that, this wedding was flawless.
Every wedding is different. Some weddings are more “fun,” some weddings are more “laid back,” and some are lots of other things. There’s no right or wrong, they’re all great in their own way. This wedding, however, was beautiful. I am so blessed to work with people who show me new and profound things about love over the course of a period of time as short as 12 hours give or take. With Matt & Jen, their joy was just beaming all day. There’s no mistaking it. I can’t even take credit for photos like theirs, because there’s an element there that I can’t add, I can only see it and freeze it. Maybe I’ve said this before, but I can’t move your arm a certain way or tilt your head until you look “in love.” No amount of posing could pour into these photos what I know you’ll see when you look at them (if I can suggest one that exemplifies this the most to me, see their first dance shot). Thanks so much for your reminder that true love is genuine, it is joyful, and for sharing and showing me what that looks like all day long.
