One thing that takes wedding photos from good to great is honesty. In photographs, honesty is revealed, in general, through emotions. Some are seen in very minor expressions, like the raising of an eyebrow, or the corner of your mouth moving up or down. Quiet moments are also very expressive of honesty. Steve and Gracie positively ooze with honesty. Their love is so palpable, you can’t be in the same room and not feel it. The best days as a photographer are those when being observant is your best friend. The joys are happening all around you and being on your toes is 90% of the battle. More than their honesty, I truly admire Steve & Gracie’s story. In a nutshell, it hasn’t always been rainbows and unicorns for them. Their love has been tested, and as any married person knows, will continue to be. I’m no sage, being married less than 4 years myself, but I know determination when I see it, and knowing that true love never gives up, I know these two are going the distance. Thanks for having me (and Steve! Video at the bottom) on your very special wedding day, Steve & Gracie, and thank you for your witness of how love does not exist to stay between two people, but envelop those around it.
