Starting out in photography, especially doing weddings, you get a lot of, and kind of rely on “friendor” opportunities. Thats a title I invented for when you’re a vendor but really the reason you are there is you’re a close friend with a flashy zippy camera and an arsenal of know-how. Though they’re happening less and less for me, I have one now and then and this one was my most recent. Alec and I have been friends forrrrrrr…probably pushing 20 years if we haven’t hit it yet. He was a sport about asking me if I’d rather shoot or kick back as a guest, and, with a touch of arrogance maybe, not wanting to leave the quality of his invaluable wedding photos to the hands of God knows who, I gladly accepted the task! Though there’s lots I could say, let me just sign off with my favorite part of working with Alec & Val: it’s probably no surprise that some couples are easier to work with than others, but Alec & Val may have been the easiest. They, in general, are positive energy people and that’s part of why I like being around them so much, wedding or not. Thanks for the honor, guys, I appreciate it and hope you enjoy the fruits of our labor (“our” referring to that video at the bottom by the talented Steve Schumaker)!
